Senior Cloud Engineer--Remote f/ Wisconsin

We are seeking an experienced Certified Cloud Engineer to support the development, implementation, security, automation, maintenance, and long-term operation of an enterprise hybrid cloud environment. The environment may include AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and a combination of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and cloud-hosted applications. This individual will provide technical oversight throughout design, integration, testing, deployment, production implementation, and operational transition. The engineer will work closely with external vendors, architects, application developers, security teams, and internal IT professionals. The opportunity is primarily remote, but Wisconsin residency is required. Candidates who do not currently live in Wisconsin must be willing to relocate to Wisconsin within 30 days of the start date at their own expense. Occasional onsite attendance may be required with sufficient notice., * Design, implement, configure, support, and maintain hybrid private and public cloud platforms.

• Review and validate vendor-proposed cloud architectures, configurations, and implementation decisions.
• Identify architecture, security, scalability, reliability, performance, operational, and cost risks.
• Provide technical guidance concerning cloud networking, compute, storage, databases, identity, security services, monitoring, logging, and automation.
• Support cloud services across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Work closely with .NET application development teams on application deployment, integration, configuration, APIs, containers, and environment management.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub-based delivery processes.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code and repeatable deployment automation.
• Incorporate security, privacy, and compliance requirements into cloud architecture and implementation.
• Support identity and access management, least privilege, encryption, network security, vulnerability management, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Help ensure cloud services align with applicable regulatory and security frameworks, including NIST and IRS Publication 1075.
• Perform complex scripting, programming, configuration, troubleshooting, automation, and issue-resolution activities.
• Develop monitoring standards, operational procedures, maintenance practices, and incident-response processes.
• Document cloud architecture, configurations, dependencies, operational procedures, and support requirements.
• Assume long-term responsibility for operational support, maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement following implementation.
• Evaluate new cloud services and marketplace solutions for security, reliability, scalability, performance, and cost benefits.
• Transfer technical knowledge to internal employees through documentation, mentoring, and hands-on collaboration.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

• At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, modifying, supporting, and maintaining AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or another major cloud platform.
• At least 3 years of cloud experience within a regulated organization.
• At least 5 years of infrastructure-as-code experience.
• At least 5 years of application containerization experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with GitHub-based CI/CD.
• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise networking, observability, and cloud cost management.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting Windows and .NET environments.
• Strong programming, scripting, configuration, and cloud troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated experience securing, automating, and supporting enterprise hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience transitioning newly implemented technology into sustainable, long-term operational support.
• Strong written, verbal, documentation, collaboration, and knowledge-transfer skills.

Certification Requirement

Candidates must hold a relevant certification for a major cloud platform. AWS certification is preferred, but Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or another applicable cloud certification may be considered. The selected candidate must provide copies of applicable certifications during the hiring process.

• Candidate must currently reside in Wisconsin or relocate to Wisconsin within 30 days of starting .
• The position is approximately 90 to 100 percent remote.
• Occasional onsite attendance may be required when operational needs arise.
