The?King County Department of Information Technology (KCIT)?is seeking?Senior Software Engineers?to join our Software Engineering team. In this role, you’ll design and deliver modern, cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Sitecore and other technologies. You’ll also support and enhance legacy applications and serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues. We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about building scalable, secure, and user-centered applications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to public service., As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop cloud-native applications using?Microsoft Power Platform,?Dynamics 365, and?Azure services?(e.g., Logic Apps, Function Apps, App Service, API Management).
- Build and maintain?custom integrations?and solutions using APIs, SDKs, and enterprise service layers.
- Develop and support?web-based applications?using modern JavaScript frameworks such as?React?and?Angular.
- Enhance and modernize?legacy applications?across a variety of platforms and technologies.
- Develop and maintain?CI/CD pipelines, source code, documentation, and work items using?Azure DevOps.
- Implement and support?Dynamics 365 customizations, workflows, Power Automate flows, and model-driven apps.
- Serve as a?Tier 3 escalation point?for complex technical issues within your application portfolio.
- Create and maintain?technical and user documentation; provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and end users as needed.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and development practices; actively share knowledge and collaborate with peers across teams., Applicants must complete the online application to include: * Employment history going back at least seven years if possible (or more to include all relevant experience).

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience developing solutions within the?Microsoft development stack, including several of the following:
- Microsoft Power Platform?(Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
- Dynamics 365?(model-driven apps, workflows, customizations)
- Microsoft Visual Studio,?C#,?ASP.NET MVC,?ASP.NET Web API,?.NET Core,?Entity Framework 6+
- JavaScript,?AJAX,?HTML,?CSS, and modern frameworks such as?React?or?Angular
- Experience with?Microsoft Azure?services, including:
- App Service, Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, and Service Bus
- Familiarity with?relational and non-relational data storage?design and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with?Agile methodologies,?DevOps practices, and?Git-based version control.
- Strong?analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize complex technical and business information.
- Excellent?communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or with?public sector organizations, particularly in a government or civic technology environment.
- Microsoft certifications in Azure, Power Platform, or Dynamics 365.

Work Schedule: The normal work week for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered.
