Lead Quality Engineer

OverviewIn this Lead Quality Engineer role, you will architect and guide the QE function during a critical transformation: monolith-to-microservices, Playwright consolidation, and AI-generated code at scale.You’ll define quality gates, automate testing infrastructure, and build shared tooling that makes high-quality testing the default for all engineering teams.You’ll coach engineers, drive flakiness reduction, and shape an AI-first approach to testing that scales with the business.This is a hands-on leadership role with architectural authority and a clear impact on Duetto’s testing practice.ResponsabilidadesDesign quality gate logic in GitHub Actions pipelines, including coverage thresholds, mutation gates, contract tests, flaky test quarantine, and automated result reporting.Build DataDog dashboards to monitor test health, coverage trends, and flaky rates across the organization.Lead migration from Selenium and Cypress to a consolidated Playwright framework; own shared configuration, CI sharding, and page object library design.Drive PR pipeline test execution toward a 15-minute target by reducing flakiness and optimizing pipelines.Design and implement Pact contract testing for monolith-to-microservices boundaries, manage the Pact broker, and standardize consumer-driven contract testing.Design and maintain Testcontainers configurations for MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, LocalStack, and RabbitMQ to support reliable integration tests.Champion AI-augmented testing practices using Claude Code, CodeRabbit, and Augment; evaluate AI-generated test code for correctness and coverage.Mentor developers on testing practices, automation patterns, and mutation testing (PIT, Stryker) within a hybrid guild model.Requisitos principales6+ years in software quality engineering or test automation in a production SaaS environment.Strong hands-on Playwright experience for end-to-end testing with CI integration.Proven ability to define and implement quality gates in GitHub Actions.Contract testing experience, with Pact strongly preferred.Proficiency in Java and TypeScript/JavaScript for test implementation.Experience with Testcontainers or equivalent integration test infrastructure.Track record reducing flaky tests in distributed service-oriented architectures.Active experience with AI coding assistants for test generation and automation; ability to validate AI-generated output.coaching mindsetdeveloper enablementcollaboration across engineering teamsPlaywrightGitHub ActionsPact
