Job description

We are seeking a Functional Tester to join a Quality Assurance team supporting Fannie Mae. This role focuses on borrower validation testing, ensuring that applications, data, and workflows used to verify borrower information are accurate, secure, and reliable. Responsibilities

Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for borrower validation systems.
Test workflows involving income, credit, employment, and identity verification.
Create and execute detailed test cases and scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
Identify, document, and track defects with clear steps to reproduce using Jira or similar tools.
Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and develop comprehensive testing strategies.
Validate business rules and ensure application functionality aligns with established Fannie Mae guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Create, manage, and validate backend test data to support loan origination and borrower verification testing.
Verify data flows and integrations across applications and systems.
Support regression testing following application enhancements, fixes, and releases.

Requirements

Experience in functional software testing, preferably within financial services, mortgage, lending, or fintech.
Strong understanding of test planning, test case development, execution, and defect management.
Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking tools.
Experience testing data-driven applications and backend processes.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience with SQL/database validation is a plus.
Mortgage, loan origination, or borrower verification experience is highly desirable.
