Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer in VMSS team, you will design and deliver scalable, resilient, and cloud-native infrastructure services that support millions of cores and serve Fortune 500 customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, distributed systems challenges, contribute to new product initiatives from the ground up, and shape the future of Azure’s compute platform. Responsibilities

• Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
• Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
• Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable. Writes and learns to create code that is extensible and maintainable.
• Begins to leverage a variety of feedback channels to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes.
• Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
• Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale., Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
