Senior/Associate Staff Engineer, Systems Storage, QDI

The Senior/Associate Staff Engineer, Systems Storage is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise Linux environments, Dell EMC storage systems, virtualization platforms, backup and replication solutions, and automation initiatives. The position focuses on ensuring the availability, scalability, security, and performance of production infrastructure while collaborating closely with engineering teams to maintain reliable system deployments and operational consistency.

Your tasks include

• Provide support for Dell EMC Unity storage infrastructure (SAN, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI, etc).
• Troubleshoot complex Linux issues in production, development, and corporate environments.
• Manage Backups and Replication.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts.
• Deploy, scale, and refresh production systems with minimal downtime.
• Secure/harden operating systems against compromise.
• Assist in Storage/Network/Linux infrastructure planning, design, and maintenance.
• Manage Storage purchase and maintenance renewals.
• Support break/fix issues 24/7.

• 5+ years of experience with Linux system administration (eg: Rocky, Redhat, SUSE).

• Working knowledge of Linux and Virtualization. (eg: Xenserver, XCP, VMware)

• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking.

• Strong Linux system programming using BASH or Python.

• Experience configuring systems and storage for use with databases. (Postgres)

• Strong organization and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

• Strong knowledge in various systems disciplines (DNS, LDAP, SMTP, SSH/SSL, NTP, package managers, TPC/IP internals, volume managers/filesystems).

• Strong hands-on experience configuring and scaling a growing storage infrastructure requirement.

• Capacity planning, redundancy model, and replication on the Dell/EMC Unity platforms.

• Experience administering and managing collocated servers.

• Experience with Backup solutions. (eg: Veeam, Netbackup etc)

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Preferred:

• In-depth experience with Dell EMC Unity platforms.
• Experience with monitoring tools. (eg: Zabbix, PRTG).
• Experience with systems automation management tools such as Puppet or Chef.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a bonus plan and generous benefits.
