Computer Technician job in Blountville

Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the computer technician is primarily responsible for installing, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting computers, peripherals, and software., * Install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computers, peripherals, and software applications

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair networked and locally connected printers and scanners
• Assist with inventory of printer supplies, toner, and related consumables
• Assist with inventory of laptops and mobile device checkout for faculty, staff, and students.
• Assist with the checkout, return, and tracking of laptops and mobile devices for faculty, staff, and students
• Assist with installation, upgrade, and maintenance of computer network equipment and software
• Assist end-users with technology issues

&bull Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field with emphasis in hardware and networking OR two years’ work experience and CompTIA A+ certification. &bull A minimum of two years of work experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, computer peripherals, computer network equipment and cabling, and software. &bull Work experience to include wireless technology, multimedia technology, virus and anti-spam protection techniques, Microsoft Office 365, latest versions of Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems, and desktop and laptop computers.

Preferred Qualifications:

&bull Professional experience in a higher education environment &bull Working knowledge of current AI technologies and tools, including generative AI, with the ability to use these technologies securely and in accordance with organizational data protection and other institutional policies.
