Job description

Define and own backend architecture, service boundaries, API contracts, and data models across case, financial, scheduling, and document modules on AWS.
Architect AI capabilities on Amazon Bedrock: RAG over case documents and statutes using OpenSearch vector search, prompt governance, Bedrock Guardrails, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop review.
Lead, mentor, and code-review the backend team in GitHub; set coding standards, branching strategy, PR workflow, and definition of done.
Design Java/Spring Boot API microservices and the data layer across Amazon RDS, MongoDB, and OpenSearch, choosing the right store for each workload.
Architect role-based access, case sealing, PII protection, and full audit trails to meet judicial data security and CJIS-aligned requirements.
Own CI/CD with GitHub Actions and AWS deployment patterns (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway); drive performance, observability, and cost control.
Translate court business rules into technical designs; estimate work and contribute to sprint and release planning.

Requirements

18+ years of backend application development, including 10+ years as a technical lead or architect.
Expert hands-on Java (Spring Boot) application development, building API-based microservices in production.
Strong data experience with Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle), MongoDB, and OpenSearch: modeling, query tuning, and indexing.
2+ years designing GenAI solutions on AWS (Amazon Bedrock, RAG, embeddings, vector search, guardrails, evaluation).
Deep AWS experience: ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, S3, IAM, KMS, Cognito, CloudWatch; GitHub and GitHub Actions for source control and CI/CD.
Strong application security (OAuth2/OIDC, encryption, OWASP Top 10, audit logging) and proven Agile team leadership., * Court, justice, or public-sector case management experience.
Event-driven architecture (Amazon MSK/Kafka, EventBridge) and workflow engines (Step Functions).
Payment processing and financial reconciliation systems.
AWS Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Machine Learning / GenAI certification.
