Job description

OverviewSenior Data Engineer in the Drug Development Data Platform (3DP) helps advance AstraZeneca’s antibody discovery by delivering scalable, cloud-based data solutions.You’ll work on AWS-based ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and data infrastructure while collaborating with globally distributed teams.The role blends hands-on engineering with stakeholder-facing communication to set expectations and drive delivery.This opportunity offers impact at the intersection of data, AI capabilities, and drug development, in a fast-paced, Agile-influenced environment.ResponsabilidadesDesign, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and processingDevelop and maintain REST APIs for system integrationSupport stakeholders with technical data guidanceMaintain AWS base infrastructureTune SQL queries and pipelines for performanceIdentify opportunities for automation and efficiencyInvestigate data issues and resolve end-to-end pipeline problemsKeep up-to-date with new technologies and industry practicesMaintain and refine a front-end applicationRequisitos principalesSolid development skills in Python, Git, and versioningExperience with big data, ETL, cloud tools on AWS (Python, Terraform, Glue, S3, SQS, ECS)Automated testing mindsetHands-on AWS experienceDevOps-first with GitHub/GitHub Actions or similarSQL experience (PostgreSQL preferred)Experience triaging and resolving ticketsExperience in a globally distributed teamAbility to document development best practicesExperience in API design (REST, documentation)Strong analytical and data manipulation skillsAbility to provide technical guidance within data and analytics teamsGreat interpersonal skills and collaborationSome front-end exposure (JavaScript/TypeScript) with focus on data/backendStrong collaboration and stakeholder managementEffective communication across international teamsProactive problem solvingPythonGitAWS (EC2, S3, Glue, SQS)
