Driven by our core values to lead, deliver, and care, you will champion a customer-centric focus and nurture team collaboration to build innovative, high-impact data solutions.

Please note that this position is located in London (3 days a week at our London office and 2 days working from home)

In this role, you will lead engineers in transforming complex operational data into actionable intelligence. You will oversee the real-time insights layer and predictive recommendation engine that helps partners optimize daily operations, reduce delays, and drive revenue growth across the JET ecosystem.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Lead engineering teams in building real-time data and analytics solutions that empower partners to streamline operations and maximize revenue.
  • Provide primary accountability for technical direction, engineering quality, and roadmap execution across product development teams.
  • Coordinate the implementation of intelligent insights, predictive alerts, and automated growth nudges using high-scale event streaming and BigQuery.
  • Partner with Product Managers and key stakeholders to define significant features and align technical initiatives with commercial needs.
  • Support integration with JET’s communication and optimization agents to drive automated partner decision-making.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, setting clear goals to cultivate a high-performance culture and support individual career development.
  • Promote engineering best practices, driving continuous improvements in architecture, deployment processes, and system design across the domain.
  • Own end-to-end delivery by ensuring functionality is continuously deployed, monitored, and optimized for high stability in production.
  • Transparently communicate progress, architectural patterns, and standards to engineering peers, senior individual contributors, and the Head of Engineering.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams building products powered by Event-Driven Architecture and real-time streaming platforms.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality, high-scale software projects in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Experience developing products that turn complex data streams into actionable user insights and automated recommendations.
  • Familiarity with modern backend or cloud tech stacks (e.g., Kotlin, Java, .NET, BigQuery, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong capability to work independently, troubleshoot complex architectural issues, and drive technical strategy.
  • Dedicated focus on coaching and inspiring engineers to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills to translate commercial needs into clear engineering priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and sharing standard practices across the wider organization.
