Job description
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Data Engineer to join a high-profile programme delivering critical data capabilities within a secure and complex environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, optimising and maintaining scalable data solutions, ensuring the availability, integrity and performance of enterprise data platforms., * Design, develop and maintain Oracle-based data solutions and data pipelines.
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes to support business intelligence and analytics requirements.
- Develop and maintain Oracle databases, schemes, stored procedures, functions and packages.
- Ensure data quality, governance, security and compliance across all data assets.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement database tuning and optimisation strategies.
- Collaborate with architects, developers and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Support cloud and hybrid data platforms where required.
- Produce technical documentation and contribute to best practice standards.
Requirements
- Strong experience working with Oracle Database technologies.
- Proven experience in ETL development, data integration and data migration projects.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills.
- Experience designing and maintaining large-scale data warehouses and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of data modelling, database performance tuning and optimisation.
- Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle GoldenGate or similar data integration tools.
- Understanding of data governance, security and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within Defence, Government or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Experience with Python, Shell Scripting or other automation tools.
- Familiarity with modern data engineering practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies., You will be a proactive and technically capable Data Engineer with a passion for delivering robust, secure and scalable data solutions. You will thrive in collaborative environments and be comfortable working on mission-critical programmes with complex stakeholder requirements.
