Job description

Our client seeks a Senior Data Engineer with Application DBA expertise to design, build, optimize, and support enterprise data platforms. The role combines advanced data engineering with hands-on database administration to ensure availability, performance, and scalability across Oracle, Snowflake, and modern analytics environments., * Administer, monitor, and tune Oracle databases supporting critical applications.

  • Manage database performance including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution plans.
  • Perform database maintenance such as backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
  • Support application teams in database design and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain dimensional and normalized data models.
  • Build and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions across Oracle and Snowflake.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Informatica and Python.
  • Ensure efficient ingestion, transformation, and integration of structured and unstructured data.
  • Support and enhance Oracle Analytics Server reporting environments.
  • Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and usability.
  • Optimize data structures for reporting performance.
  • Implement best practices for Snowflake architecture, cost optimization, and performance.
  • Work with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB for semi-structured and unstructured data.
  • Write efficient, reusable, and scalable code using Python and SQL.
  • Automate data workflows, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines and database deployments.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, security, validation, cleansing, and lineage tracking.
  • Adhere to corporate data governance and compliance standards.

Requirements

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance., * 7+ years in data engineering and database administration.

  • Application DBA experience with Oracle Database.
  • Informatica ETL development and data warehousing expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Oracle Analytics Server, Python, and advanced SQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
  • Preferred: Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Preferred: Modern data stack tools such as dbt and Airflow.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting high-volume OLTP systems.
  • Preferred: Exposure to data governance and security frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Ability to balance development and operational DBA responsibilities and collaborate with stakeholders.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
