Description: The Energy Systems Analytics research department is looking for an energy research eager candidate to join the group. The candidate will be asked to perform the following tasks:

1. To support the set up and initial development of AI driven data structure for energy modelling focused on energy communities
2. To set up the process for the collection of technical, economic, social, environmental, and regulatory data from public statistics, open datasets, and literature related to energy communities’ energy consumption and demand.
3. To define and establish governance rules for versioning, metadata, and access to ensure traceability.
4. To design and refine optimization models for aggregated distributed-energy resources.
5. To give support to the dissemination activities related to the projects where he/she will be involved (scientific papers writing, conference participation,..)

Required documents

Bachelor Degree or equivalent, Essential:

• Hold a Master’s degree in Data Science or equivalent. Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience (>2 years) in optimisation in modelling in multi-energy carriers applied to buildings and other assets (EV, renewable energy, storage,..)
• Excellent knowledge of Python, ML, SQL
• Spoken and writing capabilities in Spanish, Catalan and English Preferred:
• Participation as author or co-author in scientific papers related to the topic
• Conferences participation in related topics
• Previous experience in participating in similar projects (National or European) related to energy modelling

Personal skills:

• Capabilities of autonomous work and research sensitivity
• Interest in joining a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills

Offer of job position:

We offer a R2 position for 2 months in the framework of Synergec national project.

Salaries will be paid in accordance with IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
