Job description
- As a Service Owner, you’ll be responsible for our M365 Content Services-with a focus on SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Purview-and will drive their conceptual and technical development.
- You’ll design structured, scalable, and practical storage systems and processes based on SharePoint and establish a clear self-service and automation strategy.
- You clearly define how content is structured and where it belongs (OneDrive, SharePoint, or Teams), consistently implement these rules in practice, and use Microsoft Purview to implement retention periods, deletion rules, and sensitivity labels in a way that works for everyday use.
- You strategically use structured storage systems with metadata (content types, managed metadata, term sets) to significantly improve structure, search, and discoverability, thereby supporting smooth internal project execution.
- You continuously evaluate new developments in the M365 environment, translate relevant features into scalable, usable solutions, and support their adoption through clear best practices, how-to guides, webinars, and training sessions; you also strengthen adoption among employees by strategically building power-user communities.
Requirements
- Several years of experience with SharePoint Online and OneDrive, as well as in the design and implementation of user-friendly information and storage structures in an enterprise environment.
- In-depth knowledge of governance, lifecycle management, and compliance, ideally with Microsoft Purview (retention, sensitivity labels, DLP, data classification).
- A good understanding of related M365 services such as Teams, Loop, Planner, and Viva Engage; experience with Power Automate is a plus.
- The ability and enthusiasm to communicate complex technical content in a way that is tailored to the target audience, easy to understand, and practical.
- A successfully completed degree in (Business) Computer Science, Information Science, or a comparable program, as well as business-level proficiency in German and English.
