Celestia Satellite Test & Simulation BV (C-STS) provides innovative high-tech solutions to the international space community to support spacecraft development, Assembly Integration and Test (AIT) as well as post launch and operational services. C-STS operates from Leiden, The Netherlands.
What we do: Our core activities include the design, development and support of high-complexity electronics-based systems. These include products for Satellite Simulation & Test (Electrical Ground Support Equipment), TTC & TM/TC Systems, Modems (RF and Optical) as well as Data Processing Systems.

Who are we looking for: We are looking for a FPGA/Firmware Engineer to strengthen our existing team of talented engineers. You will be
responsible for the design (implementation, testing and maintenance) of new firmware (VHDL) used in our EGSE, Optical
Modem and TM/TC products.
What will be your challenges:
- Requirements and architecture analysis, interface definition, (functional) decomposition and mapping the
architecture down to component/FPGA level

VHDL design, implementation (coding) and simulation
-
Integration and verification of the firmware design on the hardware
-
Regular interaction with other disciplines, such as (embedded) software engineers, hardware design engineers
and project management
- Supporting the test team during the product qualification activities
- Documenting the design, simulation, verification results and interface control documents
Requirements
-
Electronics engineering degree (B.Sc. or higher)
-
At least 3-years’ experience in FPGA/Firmware development
-
Hands-on experience in writing VHDL, synthesis, timing closure
-
Hands-on experience with OSVVM is an advantage
-
Hands-on experience with on-hardware validation using standard laboratory equipment
-
Experience in high-speed digital circuitry and associated interfaces and processing
-
Good team worker, pro-active and hands-on
-
Good English verbal and written communication skills in multi-disciplinary project teams
-
Experience/knowledge in optical communication protocols (CCSDS, SDA, etc.) is an advantage

Experience/knowledge of high-speed serial (transceiver) interfaces is an advantage
-
Experience/knowledge in on-hardware validation using lab test equipment is an advantage
- Experience/knowledge in Forward Error Correction techniques is an advantage
- Experience/knowledge in (aero)space business is an advantage
