Job description
- Design, develop and maintain robust Business Intelligence, reporting and data warehouse solutions.
- Develop reporting and dashboard solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server BI technology stack.
- Design and develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Develop and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SSDT/Visual Studio for BI development and database-related activities.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical BI solutions.
- Work with business teams including Finance, Sales, Partnerships and Marketing to understand reporting and information requirements.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing reports, dashboards, data processes and BI tools.
- Understand and work with existing processes, legacy databases and established reporting solutions.
- Contribute to the technical design of end-to-end BI and data warehouse solutions.
- Develop and maintain appropriate functional, technical and business documentation.
- Implement data-quality processes, validation rules and data-health monitoring.
- Investigate data-quality issues and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support testing, deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement of BI solutions.
- Apply appropriate development standards, best practices and source-control processes.
- Prioritise competing activities and deliver accurate, high-quality solutions within agreed timescales.
- Take ownership of problems and issues and proactively drive them through to resolution.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Requirements
The successful candidate will have significant hands-on experience with the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, including SSMS, SSRS, SSIS and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)/Visual Studio. They will be comfortable working across the full BI development lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and source systems through to data modelling, ETL, reporting, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business., * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant demonstrable experience delivering high-quality reporting and BI solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, specifically:
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) / Visual Studio
- Significant technical Business Intelligence and reporting experience, ideally including end-to-end data warehouse development.
- Practical experience of technical design for end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions.
- Experience producing and maintaining appropriate technical, functional and business documentation.
- Experience delivering MI/BI solutions to different business functions, such as Finance, Sales, Partnerships and Marketing.
- Experience providing technical support for existing reports, dashboards and BI tools.
- Ability to understand existing processes, legacy databases and complex data environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with data-quality management, including measuring data health and identifying, developing and implementing validation rules.
- Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and work accurately and calmly under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Creative and forward-thinking approach, with the ability to identify and implement best practice.
