The Role
Working with clients on a consultative basis, you will focus on the financial modules and processes within their ERP system. You will support implementations, upgrades and configuration changes, provide expert second-line support and act as the bridge between what a finance team needs and what the system can do for them. As you settle in and build your knowledge, you will gradually take on wider ERP responsibilities beyond finance, giving you a well-rounded consultancy skillset over time., * Provide ERP consultancy focused on finance and accounting modules, both in person and remotely
- Recommend changes to financial processes and system configuration
- Implement required changes within the ERP system’s finance modules
- Support implementations and upgrades of finance-related ERP functionality for new and existing customers
- Provide second-line support to users on finance-related ERP queries
- Manage customer relationships and expectations
- Produce project, handover and technical documentation to a high standard
- Deliver customer training on finance-related ERP functionality
- Contribute to and, over time, lead projects as part of a wider team
Requirements
If you have a finance or accounting qualification and are looking for something different, without starting from scratch, this could be the move you have been waiting for.
We are looking for a qualified finance professional who wants to step away from the day-to-day of month-end and reporting cycles and instead use that same knowledge, of ledgers, processes, controls and reporting, to help manufacturing and distribution businesses get more out of their finance systems. This role suits people at different stages of their career, from those who have recently qualified through to more experienced professionals. You might already have some exposure to ERP systems or manufacturing environments, but this is not essential, and Syspro experience specifically is not necessary. What matters most is a genuine finance qualification, relevant experience and a real interest in using that expertise in a different way.
Location: Fully remote / home-based, with the option to work from our office near Leicester. Some travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland is required
Hours: Full time or part time considered, salary pro-rated accordingly
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum (full time equivalent), depending on experience, * Your finance qualification and experience come first. We are not looking for someone who already knows ERP systems inside out. We are looking for someone with a finance qualification and relevant experience who wants to learn how that knowledge applies to a technology and consultancy career., Essential:
- A recognised finance or accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent by experience
- Practical finance or accounting experience gained since qualifying, with a good understanding of core processes and terminology such as general ledger, AP/AR and financial reporting
- A genuine interest in technology and how it supports finance teams
- Comfortable with the idea of learning a new system and a new way of working
Desirable:
- Previous exposure to ERP systems, in a user or project capacity
- Previous experience of, or exposure to, a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Prior exposure to Syspro specifically (not necessary, but useful)
- Previous ERP implementation or consultancy experience on any platform
- Moderate knowledge of SQL Server
- MS Excel (advanced)
Qualifications:
- A recognised finance or accounting qualification, or equivalent by experience, is essential.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required due to travel to client sites.
