GIS Technician I

Under general supervision, performs technical engineering support functions; prepares, edits and digitizes engineering records, plans drawing layouts, Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping and computer graphics; uses coordinate geometry to convert surveying data to GIS format, network installations and alterations; and reviews GIS data for accuracy by applying established specifications. Performs other duties as assigned.

High school equivalency with supplemental courses in computer science, drafting, computer graphics, geographic information systems or mathematics and two years of appropriate automated drafting or working geographical information systems experience.
