Job description

The opportunity We’re looking for a Senior .NET Engineer to join their growing R&D team in Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems across the stack and wants to work with C#, Kubernetes, microservices, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

The role You’ll be working on a platform built around a large microservices architecture, helping make industrial data accessible through modern applications and emerging AI capabilities.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Designing and developing C#/.NET microservices
  • Building scalable, distributed applications
  • Working with Kubernetes and containerised environments
  • Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code
  • Authentication and authorisation
  • API design and integration
  • Contributing to architectural and technical decisions
  • Working across international engineering teams
  • Using AI/LLM tools such as Codex and Claude within your development workflow

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ software engineering experience
  • Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET
  • Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud technologies
  • Exposure to IaC, automation and modern DevOps practices
  • Understanding of authentication and authorisation
  • Strong API and application development experience
  • Someone who has worked across a broad technology stack rather than being highly siloed
  • Comfortable actively incorporating AI tools into your development workflow

The team values engineering breadth. You don’t need to be an expert in every technology, but you should understand how the different pieces of a modern platform fit together.
