Job description

As our Junior Python Developer, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues and gain hands-on experience developing the systems and automations used across our business.

With support and guidance, you’ll:

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts, integrations and internal tools.
  • Help automate repetitive business processes and workflows.
  • Support integrations between systems including OrderWise, Shopify and third-party marketplaces.
  • Help automate product uploads and updates across ecommerce channels.
  • Work with product, stock, pricing, order and fulfilment data.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Work with REST APIs, JSON, authentication methods and webhooks.
  • Monitor existing integrations and help investigate errors or data issues.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and identify their root causes.
  • Work with teams across the business to understand problems that could be solved through technology.
  • Use Git and source control to manage development work.
  • Document systems, integrations and technical processes.
  • Explore new technologies, including AI and automation tools.
  • Continually develop your Python, SQL, API and integration skills.

Requirements

We’re looking for a Junior Python Developer to join Monster Group and help us build the tools, integrations and automations that keep our fast-moving ecommerce business connected.

You’ll work with Python, SQL and APIs to solve real business problems - from automating everyday processes and connecting ecommerce platforms to developing internal tools and exploring how AI can help us work smarter.

You don’t need years of commercial experience to apply. We’re looking for someone with a good foundation in Python, a natural problem-solving mindset and, most importantly, the enthusiasm to learn and develop.

Your experience could have come from a junior role, apprenticeship, placement, university, bootcamp or your own projects. If you can show us what you’ve built and you’re excited about developing your skills in a commercial environment, we’d love to hear from you., * A good working knowledge of Python.

  • An understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • A basic understanding of APIs and how systems communicate with each other.
  • Familiarity with JSON and web technologies.
  • Some experience using Git or another source control system.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • A genuine interest in development, automation and technology.
  • The ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to ask questions.

Commercial development experience isn’t essential. We’re happy to consider candidates who can demonstrate their Python skills through education, placements, apprenticeships, or personal projects.

Nice to Have

Any experience with the following would be a bonus, but isn’t essential:

  • REST APIs.
  • Microsoft SQL Server.
  • AI and automation tools.
  • AI-assisted development tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
  • Shopify.
  • Amazon, eBay or other ecommerce marketplaces.
  • ERP or order management systems.
  • OrderWise or similar software.
  • Ecommerce integrations.
  • Front-end development or Shopify customisation.

Why Join Monster Group?

This is an opportunity to develop your career while working on real projects that are used across the business.

Rather than working through theoretical exercises, you’ll get hands-on experience with Python, SQL, APIs, ecommerce systems and automation, while having the support to continue building your technical skills.

If you’re curious, enjoy solving problems and want to turn your Python knowledge into real-world experience, we’d love to hear from you., * Coding: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
