Job description

  • Build and maintain protocol-level and Web3 infrastructure for blockchain-based trading systems.
  • Develop integrations with HyperCore, HyperEVM, APIs, RPC infrastructure and on-chain data.
  • Design reliable transaction, signing, wallet and account-management flows.
  • Build smart contracts and supporting services for trading and DeFi functionality.
  • Work with spot and perpetual market data, orders, positions, balances and other on-chain state.
  • Develop backend components that communicate with blockchain nodes and trading infrastructure.
  • Improve performance and reliability of latency-sensitive blockchain applications.
  • Research protocol behavior and translate technical specifications into production systems.
  • Write tests, review code and identify security or architectural weaknesses before deployment.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on architecture and new protocol-facing features.

HyperEVM can interact with HyperCore state through mechanisms including read precompiles and system contracts, opening up applications that combine smart-contract logic with native trading infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and practical blockchain development experience.
  • Experience with Rust, Solidity, TypeScript, Python, Go, C++, or similar systems/backend languages.
  • Understanding of EVM architecture, smart contracts and blockchain transaction lifecycles.
  • Experience working with RPCs, APIs, wallets, signatures and on-chain data.
  • Understanding of decentralized exchanges, order books, perpetual futures or DeFi protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of testing, debugging, Git and production software development.
  • Ability to reason about security, performance, concurrency and failure scenarios.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of technically complex problems with limited hand-holding.

Experience with high-performance blockchain systems, consensus, validator/node infrastructure, trading engines, market data, smart-contract security or low-latency systems is a strong advantage., Job type: Full-time, Permanent Experience: Blockchain/Web3 development experience preferred Focus: Protocol engineering, blockchain infrastructure, trading systems, HyperEVM/HyperCore integrations

Benefits & conditions

  • Flexible schedule
  • Professional development assistance
  • Referral program
  • Tuition reimbursement

About the company

Hyperliquid is not simply an application deployed on top of another general-purpose chain. The L1 itself is optimized around financial applications.

HyperCore provides native fully on-chain order books and trading state, while HyperEVM enables permissionless EVM applications to build around that liquidity. Both operate as components of the same Hyperliquid blockchain and inherit security from HyperBFT consensus.

That creates engineering problems spanning several layers at once: blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, trading systems, APIs, distributed systems and application architecture.

You’ll be working close to those technical boundaries rather than simply integrating a wallet into a conventional web application.

Why join

This role is suited to engineers who want to work deeper in the stack and understand how decentralized financial infrastructure operates under real economic activity.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across protocol integrations, on-chain execution, trading infrastructure and Web3 application architecture while taking meaningful ownership of production systems.

We value engineers who can investigate difficult problems independently, challenge existing assumptions and ship reliable systems rather than simply implement isolated tickets.
