Job description
Our Client is seeking two Desktop Support Technicians to provide hands-on technical support for end users in a fast-paced enterprise environment. We are hiring one technician in New York City and one technician in South Nassau, Long Island.
This role is ideal for IT professionals who enjoy troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting both standard and executive-level users, and delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll work directly with desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, conference room technology, and enterprise applications while helping ensure uninterrupted technology operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnd User & Technical Support
- Provide onsite desktop support for employees across multiple departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
- Support executive/VIP users with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Deliver both remote and in-person assistance as needed.
Hardware & Device Management
- Install, configure, repair, and replace desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripheral equipment.
- Maintain conference room technology and audiovisual systems.
- Set up and deploy new hardware for end users.
Operating Systems & Software
- Install, reimage, and configure Windows and macOS devices.
- Deploy applications and software updates.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Networking & Connectivity
- Troubleshoot:
- LAN/WAN connectivity issues
- Wi-Fi access problems
- VPN connections
- DNS and DHCP issues
Ticketing & Incident Management
- Manage technical requests through an ITSM ticketing platform.
- Document issues and maintain accurate service records.
- Meet or exceed established service level agreements (SLAs).
Asset & Inventory Management
- Track IT assets and maintain equipment inventory records.
- Coordinate hardware procurement, repairs, and vendor support.
- Assist with equipment lifecycle management.
Requirements
- 2-6 years of Desktop Support, Help Desk, Technical Support, or End User Support experience OR
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Technical Skills
- Windows 10/11 support and troubleshooting
- macOS support and deployment
- Active Directory user administration
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 support
- Hardware installation and troubleshooting
- ITSM ticketing systems
- Printer and peripheral device support
- Basic networking knowledge (LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
Soft Skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise healthcare, hospital, or large corporate environments
- Experience supporting executive and VIP users
- Knowledge of conference room and audiovisual technology
- Experience imaging devices using PXE or deployment tools
- Familiarity with IT asset management processes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment and peripherals up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work onsite and travel within assigned facilities as needed
