Job description
We are seeking a talented and innovative Web Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging, user-friendly websites that align with our brand identity and business objectives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise a broad range of digital design skills, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the realisation of compelling online experiences. The successful applicant will possess a strong understanding of user experience (UX), front-end development, and responsive web design principles, ensuring our websites are accessible and optimised across all devices., * Develop visually appealing website layouts using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and XD.
- Create wireframes and prototypes employing tools like Balsamiq, Axure, InVision, and Figma to illustrate design concepts and user flows.
- Implement responsive web designs using HTML, CSS, SCSS, and frameworks such as Bootstrap to ensure seamless performance across devices.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate designs into content management systems like WordPress, Drupal, or custom platforms using PHP, MySQL, and Node.js.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to optimise website functionality and user experience (UX).
- Utilise analytics tools such as Google Analytics to monitor site performance and inform optimisation strategies.
- Maintain existing websites through regular updates, troubleshooting, and implementing new features using front-end technologies like JavaScript, React, Angular, and libraries such as AJAX and Redux.
- Ensure websites adhere to SEO best practices by optimising content, meta tags, site architecture, and implementing schema markup.
- Assist in email marketing campaigns via platforms like Mailchimp or similar tools, integrating web forms and tracking engagement metrics.
- Keep abreast of emerging web trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance design quality and functionality.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in digital design, interaction design, UI/UX principles, and information architecture.
- Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and animation tools such as Adobe Animate or similar.
- Strong knowledge of front-end development languages: HTML5, CSS3, with familiarity in pre-processors like Less or SCSS.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or similar for dynamic content creation.
- Knowledge of content management systems including WordPress, Drupal, or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git for collaborative development workflows.
- Understanding of responsive web design techniques ensuring accessibility across all devices.
- Skills in data analysis using tools like Google Analytics; experience with SQL databases (MySQL) is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct user research, usability testing, and apply findings effectively to improve website performance.
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp; experience with SEO strategies is desirable.
