Job description

Autotech Recruit are partnering with a leading global automotive solutions provider to recruit a Technical Specialist to join their established technical support team in Coventry. This is an ideal opportunity for a Master Technician, Senior Technician or highly experienced Diagnostic Technician looking to take their career in a different direction. If you enjoy complex diagnostics, fault-finding and supporting others with technical challenges, this role offers the chance to utilise your expertise beyond the workshop environment.

As a Technical Specialist, you’ll provide expert support on complex vehicle diagnostic and repair cases across a retailer network. Working as part of a highly skilled team, you’ll investigate technical issues, identify root causes, analyse trends and help drive improvements in repair quality and efficiency.

This is a varied role that combines technical expertise, problem-solving, data analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced diagnostic and repair support to retailer networks
  • Manage technical cases through to successful resolution
  • Investigate complex electrical and mechanical faults
  • Analyse technical data and identify recurring trends
  • Support and coach retailer technicians
  • Recommend process improvements to improve repair quality
  • Produce technical reports and case documentation
  • Build strong relationships with retailers and internal teams

We are keen to hear from candidates with strong automotive diagnostic experience, particularly those from a franchised dealer environment.

Requirements

  • Master Technician qualification, Senior Technician status, or equivalent experience
  • Strong automotive diagnostic and fault-finding capability
  • Experience working within a dealership environment
  • Excellent understanding of modern vehicle systems
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple technical cases simultaneously

Desirable

  • High Voltage (HV) qualification or EV experience
  • Experience coaching or mentoring technicians
  • Manufacturer-accredited training

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary up to £42,170
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Company laptop
  • Pension scheme
  • Healthcare cashback plan
  • Life assurance
  • Car salary sacrifice scheme
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Career progression opportunities within a global organisation

This role offers the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day workshop environment whilst continuing to use your technical expertise at the highest level. You’ll work alongside experienced automotive professionals, support some of the industry’s biggest brands and contribute to solving complex vehicle issues across a national retailer network.
