Design Engineer

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for machinery design and hands-on innovation?We are recruiting a Design Engineer to join a premier Portable Plant Engineering team in Dungannon. In this role, you will take ownership of the design, development, and improvement of industry-leading crushing and screening equipment, seeing your ideas move directly from concept to the production shop floor.What You Will Do:

• Full Lifecycle Design: Create new products and optimize existing machinery lines.
• Technical Documentation: Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and specifications.
• Prototype Development: Lead prototype builds and support final production launches.
• Heavy Engineering: Design complex welded steel structures and heavy-duty hydraulic systems.
• Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot engineering issues and drive root-cause solutions to improve cost, safety, and reliability.
• Collaboration: Partner with production, purchasing, suppliers, and customers to execute smooth engineering changes.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy machinery or mechanical plant design.
• Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• CAD Skills: High proficiency in 3D CAD platforms (Creo / Pro-Engineer is highly desirable).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, welding fabrications, and hydraulics.
• Soft Skills: A practical, problem-solving mindset with the confidence to communicate across teams.
