Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity predominantly based at our customer’s site in Portsmouth, with some travel to support additional customers as required. The role provides exposure to a wide range of IT-related activities and would suit a candidate who is able to hit the ground running. It is a standalone site-based IT position, with the wider team based at our head office in Derbyshire.
This will be a remotely managed role. Although support and guidance will be available from the wider technical and service teams, the successful candidate must be confident working independently and managing their own workload, priorities and customer expectations without day-to-day on-site supervision.
The successful candidate will take ownership of incidents and service requests from initial assessment and troubleshooting through to diagnosis and resolution. This will include knowing when to seek specialist support or escalate, while remaining responsible for progress, customer communication, testing, documentation and confirmation that the issue has been fully resolved.
Due to the secure nature of the customer environments supported, the role requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain EL2 clearance. Security Check (SC) clearance may also be required, depending on the customer assignment and the systems or information to which access is needed.
Requirements
You’ll have previous IT system administration and support experience, including experience of working remotely, managing your own workload and priorities, and seeing technical issues through to a complete and documented resolution.
It’s essential that you will have sound knowledge and experience in the following:
· Windows Desktop
· Windows Server
· Active Directory
· Office 365
· Printer and scanner fault resolution
· Network and telephony infrastructure fault diagnosis
· On-site installation, configuration and maintenance of IT and telecoms hardware (routers, switches, servers and PBX systems)
· Diagnosis and resolution of connectivity, hardware and software issues on customer sites in line with SLAs
You’ll also be organised, flexible and have excellent communication skills. Most importantly, you will be fully customer focused, have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and work in a methodical and efficient way to ensure the service you provide is of an excellent standard at all times.
It is essential that you hold a full driving licence and are flexible with some travel as part of your role.
In return, you will become part of a progressive, friendly team and be part of a company that is going from strength to strength.
