Senior Test Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join an established technology company developing secure communication products.

This is a hands-on testing position covering both new and existing embedded products. You’ll take ownership of test planning and execution, combining detailed manual testing with automation while working closely with software, hardware and systems engineers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and executing functional, regression, system and performance tests
• Testing embedded software, hardware and complete communication products
• Developing and maintaining manual and automated test cases
• Reviewing technical requirements and providing feedback on testability
• Reproducing defects and collaborating with engineering teams to drive resolutions
• Managing defect tracking, test reporting and quality documentation
• Maintaining test environments, equipment and supporting infrastructure
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to improvements across the test function

• Strong commercial experience in software or systems testing
• Experience testing embedded, hardware-integrated or similarly complex products
• A solid understanding of both manual and automated testing
• Experience across test planning, execution, defect management and reporting
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, TestRail or Jama
• Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills
• The confidence to provide constructive technical feedback and challenge requirements appropriately

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Telecommunications or mission-critical systems
• TETRA, LTE or other wireless communication technologies
• Protocol, RF or network testing
• TCP/IP, UDP, serial or Bluetooth interfaces
• API and backend testing
• Python, Java or another automation language
• Postman, JMeter, Selenium or comparable testing tools
• ISTQB certification

You don’t necessarily need direct TETRA experience. Candidates from embedded electronics, telecoms, defence, automotive, networking, IoT or other safety- or mission-critical product environments are encouraged to apply.
