Requirements

The FPGA Engineer works as a member of an engineering team to design, implement, and verify complex FPGA solutions with a focus on video and signal processing applications. This role requires expertise in both FPGA development and digital signal processing techniques. The engineer will be responsible for the full development cycle of FPGA designs from requirements through unit verification and documentation. The engineer will participate in the integration of their FPGA designs with both hardware and software teams. Responsibilities: Design and implement digital signal processing solutions including FIR/IIR filters and other DSP algorithms. Evaluate, integrate, and verify third-party IP cores into system designs. Develop custom digital logic to interface between various IP cores and system components. Create and maintain efficient FPGA architectures that meet performance, power, and resource utilization requirements. Implement video (ISP) and signal processing pipelines including filters, data conversion, and buffering. Write and maintain automation scripts for FPGA build, simulation, and verification processes. Perform timing closure on complex FPGA designs. Manage integration between logic and processing systems in FPGA SoC devices. Create and execute comprehensive verification plans for both custom logic and IP integrations. Optimize FPGA designs for resource utilization and performance. Debug hardware issues using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment. Create technical documentation including architecture specifications and design documents. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure proper system integration. Support system-level integration and testing activities. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field from an accredited school. Minimum 5 years of FPGA development experience. Strong proficiency in VHDL and Verilog. Demonstrated expertise in digital signal processing implementation on FPGAs. Experience with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) FPGA development tools. Proficiency in TCL scripting for build automation and tool customization. Understanding of DSP principles including FIR/IIR filter design. Experience with timing analysis and constraint development. Expertise in integration and verification of third-party IP cores. Knowledge of version control systems (Git). Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Experience with simulation and verification methodologies. Understanding of hardware bring-up and debug processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated experience with DSP or ISP integration and implementation on FPGAs. Experience in medical device development preferred. +15108065161
