Job description
- Process new customer telecoms orders following sales handover
- Order mobile phones, SIM cards and related hardware
- Provision new mobile and voice lines
- Manage telephone number allocations and number porting
- Arrange new connections, upgrades and service activations
- Configure basic hosted telephony features such as Auto Attendants, Call Queues, Hunt Groups and user extensions
- Assist with basic handset and softphone setup
- Liaise with mobile networks, telecoms suppliers and distributors
- Track orders through to completion and keep customers updated
- Resolve basic provisioning and activation issues
- Escalate more technical issues to the appropriate IT or technical team
- Maintain accurate order and customer records
- Work closely with Sales, Account Management and Technical Support teams
- Ensure orders are completed within agreed SLAs
Requirements
Previous experience in telecoms provisioning, mobile provisioning, order management or service delivery would be advantageous.
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial, but training can be provided:
- Business mobile services
- SIM provisioning and activation
- Mobile number porting
- Hosted telephony / VoIP
- Auto Attendants and IVR menus
- Call Queues and Hunt Groups
- User and extension configuration
- SIP or voice services
- Telecoms order management
- Working with UK mobile networks and telecoms suppliers
- Basic IT troubleshooting and networking knowledge
Skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple orders at the same time
- Confident dealing with suppliers and network providers
- Good general IT knowledge
- Comfortable learning new telecoms and cloud-based systems
- Ability to carry out basic troubleshooting
- Ability to work to deadlines and SLAs
- A willingness to learn more technical elements of telecoms provisioning
