Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Data Analyst - HR Data to serve as a key liaison between HR/business stakeholders and Data Engineering/Technology teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience translating business requirements into technical specifications, data mappings, transformation rules, and analytical solutions.

The candidate will support enterprise HR data initiatives involving employee, organizational, compensation, payroll, benefits, recruiting, performance, termination, and workforce planning data., * Act as the primary bridge between HR business teams and Data Engineering/Technology teams for HR data, analytics, reporting, and integration initiatives.

  • Partner with HR, Finance, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders to understand business objectives and technical requirements.

  • Source-to-Target Mappings
  • Business Rules
  • Acceptance Criteria
  • Translate HR processes and business terminology into technical specifications for Data Engineers, Developers, Architects, and BI teams.
  • Analyze HR datasets including employee, position, organizational hierarchy, compensation, payroll, benefits, recruiting, performance, termination, and workforce planning data.
  • Perform data profiling, data mapping, data lineage, gap analysis, and source-system analysis.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data investigation, validation, reconciliation, and production troubleshooting.
  • Work with Data Engineers to define ETL/ELT transformation logic, data models, integration requirements, and data-quality controls.
  • Define and standardize workforce metrics including Headcount, FTE, Attrition, Turnover, Vacancy, Hiring, Compensation, and Workforce Cost.
  • Translate business rules into transformation logic from HR Source * Business Rule * Transformation * Enterprise Data Model * Reporting Metric.
  • Perform source-to-target validation, reconciliation, regression testing, system integration testing, and UAT support.
  • Investigate data discrepancies across HR source systems, enterprise data platforms, Finance systems, and management reporting.
  • Facilitate defect triage between business and engineering teams and coordinate resolution.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, mapping documents, business glossaries, lineage documentation, technical specifications, and process flows.
  • Support Agile delivery through user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement, dependencies, and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Data Architects, Data Engineers, QA teams, and business SMEs throughout the SDLC.
  • Ensure appropriate governance and security controls are followed when handling sensitive employee, compensation, payroll, and benefits data.
  • Support Tableau/Power BI dashboards and analytical datasets used for workforce reporting and executive decision-making.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Technical Data Analyst / Business Data Analyst / HR Data Analyst / Data Analyst
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with HR data / HRIS / workforce data
  • Experience with data mapping and source-to-target mapping
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT
  • Data profiling, data lineage, reconciliation, and data-quality analysis
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements
  • Strong understanding of data models and transformation logic
  • Experience with UAT, SIT, regression testing, and validation
  • Experience working with Data Engineering and Technology teams
  • Strong Agile/SDLC experience
  • Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with both business and technical stakeholders

Note : Need to attend Face to Face interview at Newark, NJ

Preferred Experience

  • Life Insurance / Insurance / Financial Services industry experience
  • Experience with HR, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, or Workforce Planning data
  • Experience with enterprise HR systems / HRIS
  • Experience with data governance and data security
  • Experience working with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar enterprise platforms
