- Drive innovation in safety-critical hardware design: Lead the development of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics that support advanced braking and steering technologies.
- Ensure compliance and product integrity: Embed functional safety, EMC/EMI, environmental, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements into hardware designs from concept through production.
- Influence key technical decisions: Select microcontrollers, processors, communication interfaces, power devices, and sensors that optimize performance, cost, and long-term scalability.
- Enable seamless system integration: Partner with software, controls, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver robust hardware-software solutions that meet vehicle-level requirements.
- Accelerate product development and validation: Lead design reviews, prototype bring-up, debugging, verification, and qualification testing to ensure products are production-ready.
- Solve complex engineering challenges: Conduct root cause analysis and drive resolution of technical issues during development, validation, and manufacturing phases.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship: Guide cross-functional teams and support the growth of junior engineers while establishing engineering best practices across the product lifecycle.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Bring deep expertise in automotive electronics: Leverage extensive experience designing ECUs, sensors, and actuator control systems, with strong knowledge of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics.
- Apply advanced hardware architecture and validation knowledge: Utilize expertise in microcontrollers, automotive communication networks, PCB design, EMC/EMI, signal integrity, and hardware verification to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
- Champion safety, quality, and compliance: Demonstrate a strong understanding of ISO 26262, hardware safety analysis, automotive development processes, and requirements management to ensure reliable and compliant products.
- Collaborate and innovate across disciplines: Work effectively with software, controls, systems, mechanical engineering, and suppliers while applying knowledge of commercial vehicle technologies, cybersecurity, and next-generation braking and steering systems.
