Software Tester

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Test Engineer to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 3 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London., Our client is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support delivery of enhancements and changes to their Broker Portal within the Mortgages platform. Responsibilities:

• Reviewing business and functional requirements, user stories, and solution designs specific to mortgage and broker journeys.
• Developing detailed test scenarios and scripts covering end-to-end broker portal workflows (e.g. application submission, underwriting journeys, document handling).
• Preparing and managing test data aligned to mortgage products and lending scenarios.
• Executing manual test scripts across:
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• End-to-End testing
• UAT support
• Regression testing
• Validating front-end broker portal journeys and back-end processing outcomes.
• Capturing and maintaining full test evidence in line with audit requirements.
• Logging, tracking, and managing defects in Jira with clear steps, business impact, and evidence.
• Supporting defect triage, root cause analysis, and re-testing following fixes.
• Maintaining traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Building and maintaining reusable regression packs aligned to core mortgage journeys.
• Supporting environment validation, shake-down testing, and smoke testing.
• Supporting production release validation and post-release checks.

Do you have experience in User acceptance testing?, * Strong experience as a Test Engineer, minimum of 3 years

• Solid manual testing experience across SIT, UAT, and regression
• Experience with Jira (defect management and test tracking)
• Strong understanding of end-to-end system testing and integrations
• Ability to work independently and proactively improve processes
