SAP Development Lead (UK)

• Lead the technical design, development and delivery of innovative ABAP solutions and enhancements within S/4HANA environments.
• Lead and coordinate development teams across geographically dispersed locations, ensuring quality, consistency and effective delivery.
• Provide technical direction, guidance and mentoring to developers across project teams.
• Drive modern ABAP development using ABAP in Eclipse, supporting clean core principles and modern extensibility approaches.
• Develop and expose Core Data Services using OData and RESTful approaches.
• Collaborate with integration, functional and technical teams to deliver solutions across S/4HANA and SAP BTP architectures.
• Work directly with clients to understand complex requirements, challenge where appropriate and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Take ownership of development quality, technical standards and delivery across the project lifecycle.

You are an accomplished SAP development professional with a demonstrable history of leading technical delivery within complex S/4HANA programmes. You remain technically credible and hands-on, but are equally comfortable leading teams, engaging with clients and taking ownership of successful development delivery.

Relevant experience and capabilities include:

• A demonstrable history of delivering complex ABAP development within S/4HANA environments.
• Experience leading and managing development teams across geographically dispersed locations.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers and setting development standards and best practices.
• Experience across multiple full lifecycle S/4HANA implementation projects.
• Strong experience with CDS Views, OData APIs and REST services.
• Experience designing and delivering enhancements aligned with clean core principles.
• Strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture and modern extensibility approaches.
• Strong client-facing experience within a consulting or professional services environment, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• SAP certifications in ABAP or related technologies are desirable.
• Fluent in English; any additional language is a plus.
