Job description
The AI Governance & Data Standards Advisor will serve as the technical lead for the ESG’s AI governance and data-standards assignments abroad. The advisor will support ESG efforts to: 1) design national AI data governance architecture and government AI data standards in developing countries, 2) conduct AI-readiness baseline assessments, and 3) ensure that AI embedded across the energy and government-service stack is governed by bias-audit, data-quality, model-documentation, and privacy standards aligned to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and the OECD AI Principles. The advisor will also support efforts to deploy government AI in the energy and power sector., * Design National AI Data Governance Frameworks and AI Data Governance Boards; develop Government AI Dataset Documentation standards, the bias-audit protocols, model-documentation, and privacy, interoperability, and AI-procurement standards.
- Direct the government AI deployment audit and AI data-ecosystem assessment, and international benchmarking against NIST, OECD, the EU AI Act, and regional frameworks.
- Design bias-audit frameworksfor high-risk government AI, including disparate-impact analysis, intersectional testing, and proxy-variable identification.
- Calibrate standards to the energy sectorwith the energy team - AMI interval-data quality, commercial-loss-detection and demand-forecasting AI, and NEPRA filing requirements.
- Ensure regulatory alignmentwith other national policies and regulations.
- Provide capacity building to civil servants to implement and monitor adherence to AI standards.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, AI, law, public policy, or a related field.
- At least 10 yearsof experience in AI governance, data governance, or responsible AI, including public-sector engagements.
- Demonstrated expertise with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and the OECD AI Principles.
- Hands-on experience designing bias-audit protocols, data-quality standards, model documentation (model cards / datasheets), and AI privacy standards.
- Experience with AI data governance frameworks, data catalogs, and federated/cross-agency data governance, and with AI procurement and vendor evaluation.
- Strong government-counterpart engagement skills and the ability to translate technical standards into adoptable policy instruments; excellent technical writing., * Experience in emerging markets or South Asia, and familiarity with Pakistan’s digital.
- Familiarity with energy-sector AI.
- Familiarity with the EU AI Act and India/Bangladesh AI frameworks; relevant responsible-AI or data-governance certifications.
