Job description
This is a home-based position and your focus will be in the following areas:
- Delivering cartography and spatial analysis to support national infrastructure planning, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and statutory processes.
- Data management (spatial and non-spatial).
- Creation and management of cloud hosted web GIS applications.
- Development and ongoing revision of GIS technical standards.
- Identifying opportunities to automate workflows using Python and FME.
- Contributing to the development of improved project management tools and methodologies.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams and IT support functions to ensure that GIS systems, processes, tools and outputs meet the needs of project delivery., * Be part of a growing division with a pipeline of large projects and ambitious targets.
- Contribute to the development of an enterprise GIS platform to support major project delivery.
- Small, engaged team where collaboration and continuous improvement are valued.
- Training provision to help you grow as a professional, keep up to date with developments in the wider GIS industry and support towards professional accreditation.

Requirements
Do you have experience in QGIS?, We’re looking for individuals with a genuine interest in using GIS in innovative and interesting ways. You don’t need to be an expert at everything, but you need to have the drive and aptitude to pick up new skills quickly and enjoy identifying and implementing solutions to technical challenges.
You will have experience using QGIS, cloud hosted GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online, groundMapper, LandApp), and knowledge of or exposure to workflow automation using Python and FME.
In addition, you will be able to analyse spatial data to produce technically accurate analytical outputs and visually appealing maps to support decision making by colleagues and clients.
You will be able to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, be calm under pressure and demonstrate the ability to prioritise effectively whilst upholding meticulous attention to detail.
