Job description

Arkatechture is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead to design, build, and deliver complex custom data and software solutions for Arkalytics customers through project-based Statements of Work (SOWs). In addition to hands-on technical delivery, the Senior Engineer will play a key role in developing and supporting the growth of other engineers within the lane. This includes providing technical guidance and mentorship, helping engineers strengthen their skills and capabilities, and promoting consistent engineering standards and best practices. The Senior Engineer will also partner closely with the head of the lane to continuously improve the team’s day-to-day operations by refining processes, documentation, technical standards, and tooling. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, analysts, engineers, and clients to translate requirements into effective technical solutions while ensuring quality, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on engineering experience with modern data platforms, strong Python development skills, a track record of delivering production-grade solutions in cloud environments, and the ability to lead and develop other engineers while driving continuous improvement across the team. What problem were you solving, what technologies and approach did you use, and what was the outcome? Please also briefly describe your role in guiding other engineers or improving the team’s technical approach along the way. (250 words or less.), * Take full accountability for assigned SOW tasks and deliverables, ensuring on-time delivery, quality execution, and high customer satisfaction

  • Analyze and resolve technical challenges within SOW scope by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions while adhering to change management procedures
  • Gather requirements for data pipeline integration (ELT) development and data mapping (business logic)
  • Drive the data discovery and file requirements process
  • Proactively monitor client batch cycle (ETL) processes, ensuring successful execution and responding quickly to failures
  • Automate deployment processes and develop tools to monitor system health, reliability, and business-critical processes
  • Maintain accurate task statuses and communicate progress, risks, issues, and dependencies to internal teams and clients
  • Escalate risks and issues in a timely manner and actively participate in daily standups and team discussions
  • Build project estimates and partner with Project Managers on task planning and allocation
  • Establish and promote engineering best practices, technical standards, and consistent approaches across the Custom Services engineering lane
  • Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and support to other engineers, helping them develop their skills, troubleshoot complex challenges, and grow in their roles
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for the engineering team, providing guidance on solution design, architecture, and technical decision-making
  • Partner with other leaders to continuously evaluate and improve processes, documentation, standards, and tooling that support the team’s day-to-day operations and service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency, quality, scalability, and consistency, and help drive those improvements through implementation
  • Foster knowledge sharing across the engineering team by contributing to documentation, reusable solutions, and team learning
