Front End Developer

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the internal and external members of the technology team to help build web solutions for our customers and colleagues. You will gather requirements directly from stakeholders across departments, translating their needs into robust, accessible, and high-performance web solutions.

You will take ownership of the front-end architecture, from prototyping and interface design through to deployment and optimisation. This includes ensuring best practices in responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, and web performance are adhered to at all stages of development.

A strong awareness of current trends and advancements in front-end development is expected, as you will proactively recommend and champion the adoption of new tools, frameworks, or workflows to continually enhance the development process and end-user experience.

Ultimately, your work will play a key role in shaping Ultima Displays’ digital presence and supporting business growth by building seamless, modern, and robust web interfaces tailored to the needs of both staff and customers, * Build and maintain modern, responsive web interfaces using technologies like Blazor, React or Angular and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into functional components.
• Work with the full-stack developer to integrate front-end components with APIs and backend services.
• Optimise web applications for speed, scalability, and accessibility across devices and browsers.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews. Follow version control and CI/CD practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve delivery speed, code quality, documentation, and testing, ensuring all generated or suggested code is reviewed, understood, secure, and aligned with internal development standards.
• Stay current with front-end trends and technologies. Recommend improvements to tooling, frameworks, and workflows.

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Blazor and other frameworks Vue, React and Angular.
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration with backend services.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance optimisation.
• Experience with Git, Visual Studio Code, and front-end build tools (e.g. Webpack, Vite).
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools, such as GitHub Copilot or similar, to support development productivity, code refactoring, documentation, test generation, and problem-solving, while maintaining strong ownership of code quality, security, maintainability, and peer review.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with business stakeholders.
• Advantageous: Knowledge of backend coding system and practices using C#., * Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field.
• Experience in B2B or manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to .NET Core or Microsoft stack is a plus.

As a Front-End Developer at Ultima Displays, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing user facing features and intuitive interfaces for both internal and customer-facing web applications. Your primary focus will be to deliver engaging, visually appealing, and highly responsive user experiences by leveraging Blazor and a suite of modern web technologies.
