Server Engineer

• Attend project meetings.
• Design solutions following the company, and industry standards.
• Work with PMs, other internal teams, and 3rd parties to deliver solutions.
• Install, and configure the server elements of solutions, including Hardware, OS, Monitoring, Backup.
• Document designs / solutions.
• Handover completed solutions to the Operations team.
• Build effective working relationships across the Asda Technology function.
• Design, Install, configure solutions following the Asda Security policies.
• Manage your day-to-day workload to ensure tasks are completed within set timescales.

We are looking for an Engineer with previous experience supporting Servers in a corporate network. The role will be a Project role working on projects end to end, including solution design, implementation, build, and documenting for handover to our Operations team., * Good customer service skills.

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Capable of managing own workload with minimal supervision.
• Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
• Willingness to understand and learn new skills.
• Strong People Skills.
• Experience supporting Windows, Linux servers and VMware infrastructure (at L3 level).
• PowerShell Scripting, and automation experience

Advantageous to have knowledge/experience in the below.

• Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Retail IT environments.

• Experience supporting servers hosted in Azure.

• Automation tools, ie Ansible, Packer
• Microsoft Server, or VMware certification
