AWS Security Engineer

As an AWS Security Platform Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and protecting our AWS estate-embedding security by design and enabling engineering teams to move fast, safely. This is an opportunity to work at scale, influence cloud security strategy, and drive real impact across a growing enterprise environment., As a hands-on AWS security expert, you will design, implement, and operate security controls across our cloud infrastructure. You’ll ensure our environments are secure, compliant, and resilient-while supporting teams to innovate confidently in AWS.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, and continuously improve AWS-native security services (e.g. Guard duty, Security Hub, IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, WAF)
• Develop and maintain secure AWS Landing Zone guardrails and baseline configurations
• Implement best-practice identity and access management (least privilege, RBAC, federated access)
• Automate security controls using Terraform, CloudFormation, Lambda and CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor cloud environments for threats and misconfigurations, and drive remediation
• Embed security into engineering workflows by collaborating with DevOps and platform teams
• Support incident response for AWS workloads and improve processes post-incident
• Provide expert guidance on secure AWS architecture and best practices, You’ll collaborate closely with teams across:
• InfoSec
• Engineering & DevOps
• Architecture
• Data & IT Services

• Secure, scalable AWS environments with strong guardrails in place
• Improved visibility of security posture through monitoring and reporting
• Reduced cloud risk through automation and best-practice controls
• Engineering teams enabled to deliver securely at speed

Do you have experience in Terraform?, * Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services and tooling

• Experience implementing AWS Landing Zones and enterprise-scale guardrails
• Deep understanding of IAM (roles, SCPs, permission boundaries, cross-account access)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Background working with DevOps / platform engineering teams to embed security in CI/CD
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on automation and scalability
• Ability to communicate technical risks clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative approach, working across engineering, architecture and security teams

Desirable

• AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Security Specialty, Solutions Architect)
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Security
