Quality Assurance Technician

Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist, the Metallurgical Technician is responsible for undertaking day-to-day routine testwork and processing of these samples in the metallurgical laboratory. This hands-on role is suited to a fit, proactive, independent, safety-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic start-up environment., * Actively promote and reinforce a strong safety-first and risk-aware culture

• Take regular samples of process plant streams throughout the processing facility
• Label, weigh, filter & dry samples in the metallurgical laboratory
• Wet and dry screening of samples
• Other metallurgical testwork and sample preparation as required
• Updating data into online spreadsheets
• Any other duties as reasonably requested by your manager

Essentials:

• Ability to learn quickly and work independently
• High level of fitness
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication skills
• Previous experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office software
• UK driver’s license

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a mine, quarry or laboratory environment

Eligibility & Physical Requirements:

• Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
• The processing plant has 6 storeys and candidates will routinely be required to walk up and down stairs and candidates. Candidates must be able to perform this aspect of the role and also be comfortable with heights.
• Must be able to work long hours (12-hour shifts) and night shift
• Must be capable of working safely in accordance with site health and safety requirements.
• Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.
