About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in Portland, OR

What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Design, develop and deploy robust and scalable software features to provide an intuitive checkout experience. Develop and maintain checkout related services ensuring seamless transaction flow between multiple platforms. Write scalable and efficient code using languages like Java and Python to manage high-traffic scenarios. Monitor and maintain existing systems, identifying potential issues before they impact the user experience. Test, deploy and monitor applications in production environments using CI/CD pipelines and other tools. Ensure performance optimization by regularly profiling and tuning system performance to reduce latency and enhance reliability. Collaborate with various cross-functional teams and product managers, UX designers. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring: Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Data Science and Applications, Engineering or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Additional Details

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
