Data Analysis Systems Engineering Network Interface Controllers Expert Systems Radio-Frequency Identification Systems Integration

Job description

Serving as subject matter expert (SME) to support development, integration, fielding, and sustainment of numerous high power and low power RF systems representing potential military threat systems. The RF simulator systems may be transportable/relatable/remote controlled as required to represent adversary air defense systems and prevailing technology. The emitters will be a combination of open-loop, closed-loop, conventional, and phased array emitter systems. Providing expert systems/equipment analysis and recommendations to leadership and engineering teams

  • Serving as a systems integration and sustainment engineer working with vendors to field systems ensuring the following elements are addressed:
  • Identifying and documenting system level open-loop emitter and closed-loop radar requirements for range integration to include power, communication, instrumentation and command & control
  • Validating existing power, communications, instrumentation and command and control (C2) range interface control documents (ICDs) and update/re-create as necessary
  • Developing remote operations concept and infrastructure requirements
  • Supporting development of the new threat capabilities that include Concept of Employment & Life-Cycle Support
  • Documenting range modernization needs and generate cost estimates to upgrade the ranges to meet an Advanced Range Capabilities that best replicate adversary air defense
  • Recommending test, equipment modification, and correction to design deficiencies through evaluation of operational capability of systems/equipment and review of performance data against standards
  • Providing troubleshooting support to existing RF systems, to include technical mentorship of junior engineers and technicians, and developing innovative approaches to problem solving

  • Two years or more of applicable Radio Frequency (RF) / threat (electronic warfare systems) engineering experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with military Technical Orders (TO), and troubleshooting procedures on RF and electronic warfare (EW) systems
  • Experience with Input/Output (IO)-related systems analysis and design to serve as technical authority on a wide range of technology and applications. Must have knowledge of emerging technology to apply new solutions to requirements and to plan and sustain advanced projects
  • Ability to develop new approaches, establish innovative techniques, and identify measurement and evaluation criteria to determine system effectiveness, develop new or modified work methods, and analyze and resolve highly complex problems
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, orally and in writing
  • Knowledge and understanding of current engineering practices and standards. Apply the principles and techniques of electrical engineering design to specific projects
  • Ability to manage engineering projects efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to provide technical direction to other engineers, technicians and support personnel
