Job description

The Network Engineer will provide subject matter expertise (SME) level guidance and insight on diverse technologies and solutions supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency Hybrid Cloud team, with an emphasis on deploying and sustaining advanced networking and network security solutions leveraging Iron Bow partner technologies and service deliveries. This role emphasizes installing and managing advanced large-scale DoD solutions involving the latest developments in these technologies., * Selected candidate will serve as a network engineer and deployment technician on a program for private cloud networking and security solutions

  • Responsible for the deployment of advanced networking and network security solutions
  • Deploy and manage large-scale routing across global geographic footprint, dealing with BGP, SRv6, VRFs, Cloud-Scale NAT, Load Balancing, Service-Chaining, Data Center Networking, and Firewall Technology
  • Develop and adhere to processes and best-practices for efficient deployment operations
  • Leverage and contribute to automation and orchestration of the environment
  • Support multiple project initiatives from small to large complex within the private cloud networking solution set
  • Tackle critical customer escalations as a technical point of contact
  • Assist with both high-level and low-level design documentations
  • Effectively work independently and within a team environment
  • Perform activities such as code upgrades, STIG compliance, configuration deployment and troubleshooting, and configuration optimization

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands on experience with network design and implementation
  • Familiarity with the various services that are required to support build out of CAN (AD, TACACS, SYSLOG, etc.)
  • Efficient oral communication skills and ability to present in front of small/large audiences
  • Strong MS Office skills in using and developing documents, technical diagrams, spreadsheets, and presentations are required
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize on various projects and committed in meeting target deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail is a must

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience configuring and working with Juniper, Aruba, F5, and/or Netscout equipment
  • Experience with diagraming tools such as Visio for demonstrating engineering designs
  • Experience with operating system security models/mechanisms
  • Ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced environment, that is highly collaborative and multi-functional

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Master/Professional certifications are highly desired: CCNA/CCNP/CCDP or higher
  • Must be able to meet requirements for 8570 IAT Level II or higher
  • Must be a US Citizen with at least “Secret” security clearance

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 75% of travel required for this position

Pay: $87,939.88 - $140,000.00 per year

License/Certification:

  • IAT Level II (SEC + etc) (Required)
  • CCNA (Preferred)
