Technology Architect

Role Overview: The Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing enterprise IT infrastructure across Compute (AIX/Linux, Windows/VMware), Storage, and Network domains, with strong focus on capacity planning, performance engineering, and operational resilience., 1. Infrastructure Architecture & Design

• Define and maintain end-to-end infrastructure architecture across:

1. Compute (IBM AIX, Linux, Windows)
2. Virtualization (VMware - ESXi, vCenter)
3. Storage (SAN/NAS, backup platforms)
4. Network (LAN/WAN, DC networking)

• Provide architectural solutions for scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure platforms
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, CMDB, and configuration management practices.

1. Capacity Planning & Management * Perform capacity forecasting for compute, storage, and network resources * Analyze trends for CPU, memory, storage, IO, and network utilization * Recommend and implement capacity optimization strategies * Collaborate with application, DB, and infra teams for growth planning.

2. Performance Engineering & Optimization * Lead performance analysis and tuning across AIX/Linux/Windows and VMware environments * Identify bottlenecks across:

3. CPU, memory, disk IO, network throughput

• Optimize workloads using tools/technologies (e.g., monitoring, alerting platforms as referenced in infra monitoring scope)
• Drive proactive performance improvement initiatives

1. Compute Platform Leadership (AIX / Windows / VMware) * Oversee:

2. AIX (POWER, LPAR, PowerVC environments)
3. Windows Server & Active Directory
4. VMware infrastructure lifecycle (ESXi, vCenter, clusters)

• Support activities including:

1. OS monitoring, patching, lifecycle management

2. VM provisioning, decommissioning, and performance tuning.

3. Storage & Backup Architecture * Design and manage SAN/NAS storage environments * Optimize storage performance (IOPS, throughput, latency) * Lead backup/recovery strategy and disaster recovery alignment * Work with tools like enterprise backup (e.g., Spectrum Protect, etc. based on environment patterns)

4. Network Architecture & Integration * Define and review:

6. Connectivity between compute, storage, and application layers

• Work closely with network architects for performance troubleshooting
• Ensure network supports infrastructure scalability and HA needs

1. Monitoring, Automation & Reliability * Implement and enhance monitoring solutions for infra health, alerts & performance * Drive automation for:

4. Performance tuning

• Improve observability across infra stack

1. Incident, Problem & Change Management * Lead resolution of complex L2/L3 infrastructure issues * Drive root cause analysis for recurring performance issues * Work within ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change)

2. Disaster Recovery & High Availability * Design DR/HA solutions for critical infrastructure * Ensure infrastructure readiness for failover scenarios * Periodically validate DR drills

• 10-15+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture / engineering
• Proven experience in large enterprise environments (multi-DC, hybrid infra)

• Ability to lead design discussions and technical governance
