Job description

The eCAD Engineer leads electronic computer-aided design (eCAD) activities for printed circuit boards (PCBs) for the automotive exterior lighting electronic systems and other emerging automotive electronics systems for Flex-N-Gate. This role focuses on developing and overseeing multi-layer PCB layouts for automotive ECUs and cross-functional coordination to ensure robust products., * Design, develop, characterize, optimize, validate, release, launch and maintain eCAD data for PCBs.

  • Ensure that schematics, PCB layouts, and manufacturing data comply with Flex-N-Gate standards, electrical performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability of layouts to requirements using requirements management tools (e.g., Altium, Polarion ALM, DOORS, Jama).
  • Collaborate with multiple eCAD, CAD and manufacturing engineers globally to create products that meet customers’ requirements.
  • Maintain libraries of components, schematics, layouts, symbols, footprints, part attributes and documentation.
  • Develop PCB stack-ups, routing strategies, impedance control, and constraints
  • Generate manufacturing and assembly outputs (Gerbers, ODB++, pick-and-place, BOMs)
  • Manage PCB projects and report to program managers.
  • Provide Electronic support to manufacturing plants and the product engineering teams.
  • Comply with Flex-N-Gate and industry processes such as ASPICE, APQP Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity.
  • Communicate and interface with OEM and suppliers.
  • Review OEM specifications and integrate customer requirements into eCAD.
  • Support system verification and validation planning (DVP&R), DFMEA contributions, and compliance reviews.
  • Provide technical support during development, launch, and production for issues related to electronic system behavior, requirements interpretation, and change management.
  • Maintain knowledge of automotive electronics technologies, communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, hardwire I/O), and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and present technical information to other engineers and OEM customers through design reviews, technical discussions, and formal documentation.
