Job description

Hands On Software Engineering Managers/Tech leads - C#/.NET/AZURE - Data & Performance This is a hands-on technical leadership role with a strong focus on data architecture, application performance, and platform scalability.You’ll lead a small senior engineering team, combining technical delivery with people leadership (around 75% technical / 25% line management).Your focus will be on enabling the platform to scale intelligently - supporting reporting, APIs, AI/LLM usage, and real-time customer insight. What You’ll Do Lead and support a newly forming team focused on data architecture and application optimisation Drive structural change within a large, established codebase to support scale Influence architecture, design, and technology decisions across the platform Partner closely with Product, Engineering Managers, and SRE leadership Translate strategic scaling goals into clear, deliverable roadmap initiatives Contribute to engineering-wide OKRs and technical direction Champion a culture of learning, collaboration, and thoughtful technical challenge Remain technically hands-on, solving complex backend and data-driven problems

Requirements

Tech StackStrong backend experience is essential.Core technologies include: C# / .NET (Framework & .NET Core) Azure SQL Server Azure Cloud PlatformBonus experience (nice to have): Azure Cognitive Search Data pipelines (Fabric or similar) Search technologies (Lucene, Elastic, NoSQL, MSSQL) MS SQL views and performance optimisation About YouYou don’t need the job title - but you do need the leadership mindset.You’ll thrive here if you are: A strong backend engineer with deep .NET and Azure experience Comfortable leading technical change in mature, complex systems Skilled at breaking down big, ambiguous problems into clear actions Emotionally intelligent and collaborative across teams Confident challenging decisions - kindly and constructively Motivated by learning, improvement, and meaningful impact An excellent communicator who helps align people and priorities
