Job description
We are looking for a driven, experienced IT sales professional to join us as our IT Business Development Manager. This is a new role, created specifically to grow our IT services offering - which means you will have real autonomy, a warm base of existing customers to sell into, and the full backing of an established business behind you.
You will be responsible for generating new IT services revenue, managing the full sales cycle from first contact to close, and working closely with our operations and technical teams to ensure customers get exactly what they’re promised. You will be the face of our IT division.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively identify and develop new IT services opportunities within our existing telecoms customer base
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, and self-sourced leads
- Manage the full sales cycle - from qualification and needs analysis through to proposal, negotiation, and close
- Conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings with SME decision-makers to present our IT services portfolio
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline using our CRM - accurate forecasting is essential
- Work closely with the IT Manager and technical team to ensure proposals are deliverable and commercially sound
- Gather customer IT bills and benchmarking information to build compelling, evidence-based proposals
- Represent the business at networking events and trade opportunities where relevant
- Feed market intelligence back to the leadership team to help shape the product roadmap
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunication?, * Proven track record in B2B IT services sales - you must have sold IT, not just technology
- Experience selling to SMEs - you understand the decision-making process and buying cycle
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, managed IT support, and cybersecurity products
- Confident presenter - comfortable at board level and with business owners
- Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to close
- Self-motivated and target-driven - you don’t need to be managed to perform
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- CRM literacy - you keep your pipeline up to date without being chased
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements
- Background in a managed service provider (MSP) environment
- Experience selling Microsoft CSP licencing
- Familiarity with telecoms or converged IT/telecoms solutions
- Existing network of SME contacts in the South East
- Experience working alongside a technical pre-sales or solutions team
- Knowledge of cloud backup, RMM, or endpoint management products
We are not looking for someone who has only sold hardware or software licences. We want someone who has sold a managed IT service - someone who understands the consultative sale, the importance of relationships, and what it means to have your name on a customer account.
