Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Engineer, responsible for the design of components and products for Grantham Engineering., · Generation of Solid Work Models using CAD software, manufacturing drawings and Bill of materials associated with all of the company’s products.

· Engineering design changes and modifications.

· Generation and maintenance of Technical documentation & information.

· Maintain products parameters and information on the ERP system.

· Validation of technical data and information.

· Testing of Invicta & Mogensen products.

· Assist in the generation sales and promotional documentation.

· Generation & maintenance of Production related documentation.

· Deal with customer technical enquires.

Quality Management Systems / H & S:

· Be aware of Processes KP004 (Invicta Sales), KP005 (Mogensen Sales), KP006 (Purchasing), KP016 (Design Office), KP015 (R&D) & KP018 (After Sales) and the related procedures and documents.

· Be aware of process-related KPIs and the Design Engineers role in achieving them

· Be aware of Company Quality Policy and the Design Engineers role in achieving the objectives.

· Discuss potential process improvements with Technical Director.

· Report faulty or damaged equipment to Technical Director as soon as possible.

· Work safely at all times.

· Keep work areas and surrounding areas clean and tidy.

· Be aware of any related Regulatory or Statutory requirements.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System design?, · Proficiently operate 3D modelling software for the production of components and assemblies.

· Produce detailed manufacturing drawings for production purposes for either internal or external manufacture.

· Knowledge of machining and fabrication methods

· Good communications both verbal and written liaising with all stakeholders

· Team orientated, willing to share best practices

Desired Competences

· Experienced with Solidworks design software

· Able to perform static FEA analysis on components and structures

· Use of dynamic FEA for Modal, Fatigue and thermal analysis

· Use of an ERP system

· Continuous improvement methodologies lean / 6sigma

· Project planning and management exposure
