Requirements

Proven experience developing solutions using Scala or another functional programming language.
Strong experience writing Unit Tests and Acceptance/Behavior-Driven Tests.
Ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable code within established timelines.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques.
Experience working in an Agile development environment, including practices such as pair programming, daily stand-ups, and sprint ceremonies.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of business/domain concepts in previous roles.
Experience collaborating within development teams and contributing to a shared codebase using Continuous Integration (CI) practices.
Willingness to participate in a production support rotation.
Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Message-Oriented Middleware (MOM) technologies such as Kafka, AMQP, MQ, and AMPS.
Experience designing and developing distributed systems.
Web application development experience using technologies such as JavaScript, AngularJS, and Bootstrap.
Experience in RESTful API design and development.
Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Event Sourcing architectures.
Experience within the banking, middle-office, or back-office domain.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
Experience with deployment and infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Docker.
Hands-on experience with Scala libraries and frameworks such as Scalactic, Scalatra, Akka, RxScala, and TypeLevel libraries.
Understanding of Category Theory and its application to functional programming concepts.
