  • Technical Leadership: Drive complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives from inception to production, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and establishing software engineering best practices.
  • Ensure High Availability & Security: Continuously harden our database infrastructure meet SLAs around uptime, security, and durability.
  • Production Excellence: Participate in an on-call rotation, lead incident investigations for complex production issues, and direct blameless post-mortems to drive permanent systemic improvements.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with Security, Infrastructure, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to support new product capabilities at scale.

  • Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: 7-12 years of professional experience designing, building, operating, and scaling large-scale backend distributed systems in high-growth production environments.
  • Core Systems Knowledge: Understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and experience running large-scale distributed systems.
  • Advanced Programming Proficiency: Strong hands-on coding experience in systems and application languages such as Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
  • Public Cloud Mastery: Extensive experience architecting infrastructure on major public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including cloud networking constructs (e.g., VPC peering, PrivateLink, Transit Gateways).
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Proficient in automating global fleet deployment and configuration using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven track record of technical ownership, breaking down ambiguous problems into concrete roadmaps, and delivering high-impact projects across multiple engineering teams.
